Storico is an open-source tool that leverages Large Language Models to automatically decompose user stories into structured, actionable Kanban tasks. It was developed as part of a Master's thesis in Software Engineering at the Universidad Tecnológica de la Mixteca (UTM) in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between requirements expressed in natural language and actionable development tasks. We believe that AI should augment — not replace — the planning skills of agile teams, reducing cognitive load and eliminating misinterpretations.

Manually breaking down stories into tasks is inconsistent, tedious, and error-prone. Storico automates this process, providing consistent, high-quality task decomposition every time.
Storico was created by Angel Luis Valdés Sánchez as part of his Master's research, advised by Dr. Carlos Alberto Fernández y Fernández and co-advised by Dra. Verónica Rodríguez López.
